This is a ResEdit 2.1 resource file containing the complete icon family for QuicKeys 2.1 and DialogKeys 1.5 (some of the ics#, ics4, & ics8 were missing from the origonal versions).
Just copy them from the ResEdit 2.1 icon resource files provided files and paste them into the appropriate file using ResEdit 2.1, then rebuild your desktop file by holding down the command and option keys at startup.
Color icons can also be copied directly from the icon editor in ResEdit 2.1.1 (Apple's resource editing utility available for download on AOL, use the keyword QUICKFINDER to loacate and downlaod it) through the clipboard and pasted into the Get Info window of whatever file you are trying to edit in the System 7 Finder. You may also wish to download a copy of the HMG ResEdit Primer 6.0, an excellent on-line reference source for ResEdit 2.1.1.
The next question is how do I edit the new icon which was created by the System 7 Finder?
The new icon for a disk or folder which is created by the System 7 Finder is stored in a resource file simply called "icon" in the primary directory of whichever folder or disk has been altered. This invisible generically named "Icon" resource can then be further edited using ResEdit 2.1.1. Remember, after editing your new icon you must rebuild your desktop file by holding down command and option at startup so that your changes will be displayed on your Mac.
